Incubus is preparing to release their new album sometime this year -- which would be their first since 2011's If Not Now, When? -- and is sharing the first single from the record called "Nimble Bastard." The band has been teasing fans that new music is coming, and now, it's finally here.

"Nimble Bastard" is the first new single from Incubus since "Absolution Calling," from their Island debut EP, and is an up-tempo tune featuring some powerhouse guitar riffs, as lead vocalist Brandon Boyd belts out in the song's chorus "You're a nimble bastard."

Basically, this preview from Michael Einziger was extremely accurate:

This year marks the 20th anniversary of Incubus' first major label album, and will be releasing their eighth full-length studio album -- aptly titled 8 -- sometime in the spring of this year via Island Records. The band has been working with producer Dave Sardy on their new music. Dave has worked with artists and bands including Marilyn Manson, Oasis, Fall Out Boy, and LCD Soundsystem, among others.

In addition to releasing their new album, the band is also expected to go on tour, as they've been teasing on social media.
