Vampire Weekend Cover Post Malone's 'Sunflower': Watch

Vampire Weekend recently released a song called "Sunflower," and while the band was visiting BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge, they elected to cover Post Malone and Swae Lee's track of the same name.

The New York natives transformed the pop-ready tune into a slinky indie ballad, swapping synths for swathes of piano chords and adding robust backup vocals from a trio of soulful singers. The band also stretched the song to nearly double its original length, adding instrumental breaks between verses where they slyly weaved in the guitar riff of their "Sunflower," as well as the melody of their upcoming album's lead single "Harmony Hall."

Vampire Weekend is gearing up to release its fourth studio album, Father of the Bride, on May 3. The indie rockers have already released four songs off the record, and plan on putting out two more before its release. A few weeks after the album drops, VW embarks on a North American tour, with a few European festival stops along the way. The tour kicks off with Vampire Weekend's Hangout Fest set May 17 and sees the band traverse the country, ending with a show at Colorado's iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre on October 8.
