Gigi Perez is officially making waves in 2026 after an incredible year following the release of her debut album, At the Beach, in Every Life. In a recent backstage interview with iHeartRadio's Kristin Lee at iHeartRadio ALTer EGO, Perez opened up about the surreal experience of sharing her first full-length project with the world.

“It’s just surreal that even just my first album’s been out for this long,” she said. “I think about the experience I had creating it in my room, you know, with just good friends. The process of learning how to record and produce really took me by surprise. And especially the fact that we’re here tonight — it’s become this really communal experience. It’s beautiful.”

Fans have especially gravitated toward her track “Sailor Song,” which has become a standout favorite. Perez reflected on the song’s instant connection with listeners, explaining, “There was something about the song from the minute I wrote it ... I remember dancing in my room while learning how to record and produce my music. Every time I’d play it back, I’d think, why does it sound good? I don’t know, maybe it’s just this unexplainable feeling, but I always defer to the people that enjoy it to speak to that.”

Perez brought that magic to the iconic Kia Forum, performing in front of a sold-out crowd. “It’s surreal,” she said. “When you walk in and see the artists on the walls that have played here — Jimi Hendrix, Bob Seger — it really hits you. I’m just really grateful that I get to be here.”

With her infectious energy, honest reflections, and music that resonates with fans on a deeply personal level, Gigi Perez is proving that she’s not just a rising star—she’s here to stay.
